Calibration of the rearview camera system is necessary:
- The installation position of the Rearview Camera -R189- in the vehicle has changed.
Conditions
The calibration requirements must be met.
- Refer to CALIBRATION CONDITIONS
Procedure
-- Check which hole circle the rims have.
-- On every Wheel Center Mounting: VAS6350/1A , attach three fitting wheel bolt adapters for the wheel bolts using the Supplementary Set Audi R8: VAS6350/5 .
-- Insert the measuring paddle at both Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting: VAS6350/1A and secure with the locking nut.
-- Place the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting: VAS6350/1A onto the wheel bolts on both rear wheels.
Conditions
- The wheel center mounting rotation center must be in the wheel rotation center.
-- Place the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting: VAS6350/1A on the wheels so that any anti-theft wheel bolts are not connected to the wheel center mounting.
-- Adjust the measuring paddle using the locking nuts so that they move freely just above the floor.
Conditions
- The measuring paddles must move easily.
- The measuring paddles must be in vertical position.
-- Position the Calibration Tool: VAS6350A at distance -a- to the rear wheels.
Conditions
- Dimension -a- = 1.50 m (4.9 feet).
-- Using the bubble level (level indicator) -arrow-, bring the Calibration Unit: VAS6350A into a level position by turning the plastic bases.
-- Put on the contrast glasses.
-- Turn on the Calibration Tool - Linear Laser: VAS6350/3A -1- on the Calibration Tool: VAS6350A .
-- Align the Calibration Tool: VAS6350A so that the Calibration Tool - Linear Laser: VAS6350/3A -1- strikes the center of the emblem on the rear lid.
Measurement of the Dimension from the Calibration Tool: VAS6350A to the Rear Wheels
-- Switch on the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser: VAS6350/2A .
-- Indicator on the display -1-.
-- Display 2 displays how the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser: VAS6350/2A must be positioned.
- -Arrow 1- : position with front edge
- -Arrow 3- : position with rear edge
-- Press the corresponding button.
-- Hold the Spacing Laser: VAS6350/2A -2- on one side of the calibration board flush to the catch bracket, as shown.
Conditions
- The Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser: VAS6350/2A -2- must lie firmly against the catch bracket.
-- Press the measuring button briefly.
The laser switches on.
-- The "laser beam" must strike the lower, extended part of the measurement paddle -1-.
If necessary, adjust the height of the measurement paddle -1- by using the clamping screw at the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting: VAS6350/1A .
-- Press the measuring button for the distance measurement.
-- Note the value.
-- Repeat the measurement for the rear wheel on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Conditions
- The value readout must be identical on both sides.
-- If the values are not equal readjust the Calibration Tool: VAS6350A accordingly and repeat the measurements.
Conditions
- The Calibration Tool - Linear Laser: VAS6350/3A continues to strike centrally above the emblem.
- The bubble level remains in center.
Measurement of the dimension from the Calibration Tool: VAS6350A to the Workshop Floor
-- Measure the dimension from the upper edge of the Calibration Tool: VAS6350A to the floor, dimension -a-.
Conditions
- Apply the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser: VAS6350/2A with the front edge.
-- Display -2- displays how the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser: VAS6350/2A must be positioned.
- -Arrow 1- : position with front edge
- -Arrow 3- : position with rear edge
-- Press the corresponding button.
-- Press the measuring button briefly.
-- Note the value.
Height Measurement from the Center of the Rearview Camera Lens to the Wheel Contact Surface
-- Use a commercially available measuring tape to measure the height from the center of the rearview camera lens to the wheel contact surface.
-- Write down the height measurement.
Calibration Procedure
-- Perform the calibration of the rearview camera function using the. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
Conditions
- The determined distance and height dimensions must be entered in millimeters in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Disconnect the battery charger. Refer to BATTERY, CHARGING .
