Refer to the Fuel and Emissions Systems Service Precautions before doing the procedure.

1. Jet Pump - Inspect

   Preconditions 

   • Secondary Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Removed
   • HDS Connected

   Procedure/Specifications 

   1. Connect the vacuum pump/gauge, 0-30 inHg, to the transfer tube (a) with an appropriate joint attachment (b) and a hose (c).

   2. Operate the fuel pump.

   • Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.
   • • PGM-FI (System Selection Menu)
     • Function Test
     • FUEL PUMP ON

   3. Read the vacuum pump.

   Specifications 

   Object	Specification
   Fuel tank unit	4.0 kPa (30 mmHg, 1.18 inHg) or more

   Result 

   • If the measurement is within specifications, check for blockage of the secondary fuel gauge sending unit filter.
   • If the measurement is not within specifications, check for blockage of the transfer tube. If it is OK, replace the fuel tank unit .
