How to Connect the HDS

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2. Connect the HDS to the DLC (a) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.

3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not start the engine.

4. Activate the HDS, then make sure the HDS communicates with the PCM and other vehicle systems. If it doesn't, go to the symptom troubleshooting - Refer to: Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN BUS-OFF (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) (3.0L Engine) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - HDS does not communicate with the vehicle or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS with Connection to CAN Gateway) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN BUS-OFF (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS with Connection to CAN Gateway) (3.0L Engine) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - B-CAN Lost Communication
