CKP Pattern Clear/CKP Pattern Learn Procedure (2.0L Engine): Procedure

How to use this manual .

NOTE:

Clearing the DTCs with the HDS does not require you to do this procedure.
The PCM memorizes the learning status after an hour from turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. If you need to disconnect the 12 volt battery terminals before the PCM memorizes the learning status, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait 60 seconds, then disconnect the 12 volt battery terminals.

With HDS

CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn
Preconditions
- HDS Connected
Procedure

1. Clear the CKP pattern learned value.
- Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.
- - PGM-FI (System Selection Menu)
  - Adjustment
  - CRANK (CKP) PATTERN
  - CRANK (CKP) PATTERN CLEAR
2. Learn the CKP pattern.
- Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.
- - PGM-FI (System Selection Menu)
  - Adjustment
  - CRANK (CKP) PATTERN
  - CRANK (CKP) PATTERN LEARNING
3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

4. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.

5. Wait 60 seconds, and exit the SCS mode with the HDS.

Without HDS
CKP Pattern - Learn
Preconditions
- Engine Warmed Up
  NOTE: Warm up the engine by raising the engine speed around 3, 000 rpm until the cooling fan(s) comes on.
Procedure

1. Test-drive doing the following conditions.
- Vehicle on Level Road
- Transmission to D position/mode
- Decelerate from an engine speed of 3, 750 rpm to 2, 000 rpm with the throttle fully closed
2. Repeat the test-drive several times.

3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 30 seconds.

5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, and wait an hour. The CKP pattern learn procedure is complete.
