PGM-FI Main Relay
NOTE:
If the car starts and continues to run, the PGM-FI main relay is okay.
- Remove the PGM-FI main relay. Relay is located behind passenger seat. See Figure .
- Connect battery voltage to PGM-FI main relay. Attach battery positive to the relay 8-pin connector terminal No. 3 and battery negative to the relay 8-pin connector terminal No. 2. Check for continuity between PGM-FI main relay terminals. Check between the relay 8-pin connector terminal No. 5 and relay 4-pin connector terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 . If there is continuity, go to next step. If there is no continuity, replace the relay and retest.
- Connect battery voltage to PGM-FI main relay. Attach battery positive to the relay 4-pin connector terminal No. 4 and battery negative to the relay 8-pin connector terminal No. 7. Check for continuity between PGM-FI main relay terminals. Check between the relay 4-pin connector terminal No. 3 and relay 4-pin connector terminal No. 1. If there is continuity, go to next step. If there is no continuity, replace the relay and retest.
- Connect battery voltage to PGM-FI main relay. Attach battery positive to the relay 4-pin connector terminal No. 1 and battery negative to the relay 8-pin connector terminal No. 2. Check for continuity between PGM-FI main relay terminals. Check between the relay 8-pin connector terminal No. 5 and relay 4-pin connector terminal No. 2. If there is no continuity, replace the relay and retest. If there is continuity, the relay is okay. For additional testing if the fuel pump still does not work, follow the procedure in the flow charts. See Fig 3 -Fig 5 .
