Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes

  1. Turn ignition off. Press MEMO button and both position setting buttons on memory switch and hold then all down. Turn ignition on and wait at least one second. Release all buttons.
  2. If no trouble codes are stored, position setting button LEDs will only blink one 3-second long blink. If trouble codes are stored, position setting button LEDs will blink one, two or three one-second long flashes. This is the first digit of the trouble code.
  3. After the first digit is flashed, a one second pause takes place. The second digit is displayed by 1/4-second flashes of the position setting button LEDs. Each trouble code is followed by a 3 second pause before any other codes are displayed. Record all trouble codes and see appropriate flow chart to locate cause of problem. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  table.
