Neutral Position Sensor (7/243) [2018-2022]: Description
The neutral position sensor is used to detect when the gearbox is in neutral and provide information to the Engine Control Module (ECM).
The neutral position sensor consists of two sensors that independently register the position of a permanent magnet fixed to the gear control mechanism inside the gearbox. The two sensors transmits PWM signals of different characteristics to the Engine Control Module (ECM). Both signals must indicate neutral gear for the detection to be valid.
