Start/Stop [2021-2022, B420T; B420T2]: Description

The start/stop function controls the autostop and autostart of the engine, which reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emission. For a vehicle with automatic transmission the engine autostops when the vehicle is braked at low speed towards standstill and autostarts when the brake is released. For a vehicle with manual transmission the engine autostops when the transmission is in neutral, the clutch pedal is released and the vehicle speed is reduced towards standstill and autostarts when the clutch pedal is being depressed. The function is mainly controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Central Control Module (CEM)
