Side Impact Protection (8/51 - 8/52) [2019-2022]: Description
The vehicle is equipped with two side impact protection airbags, one in each front seat. The airbags protects the hip and part of the torso in the event of a side collision.
An igniter is used to deploy the airbag. In the event of a deployment, the propellant in the inflator is ignited and generates a gas that inflates the airbag.
Only the airbag closest to the point of impact is deployed if a side collision is detected by the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS).
