Sensor, Accelerator Pedal (7/51) [2019-2022]: Description

The sensor, accelerator pedal, is used to provide the Engine Control Module (ECM) with the position of the accelerator pedal. The pedal sensor has two contactless inductive sensors which measure the accelerator pedal position. Both sensors are connected to the Engine Control Module (ECM). One sensor sends a PWM signal and the other sensor sends an analog signal. Each sensor captures the same information and in a fault-free system the PWM signal is used. Otherwise, the signal from the sensor with the lowest value is used.

The PWM sensor is supplied with 12 V while the analog sensor is supplied with 5 V.
