Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) (1/4) [2019-2022, B4204T28 | 2020-2022, B4204T39]: Description
The Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) is located inside the high voltage battery, which is of the Li-Ion battery type with a voltage of 400 V. The high voltage battery has 96 battery cells, divided into six modules that each generates 4.15 V as charge power limit and 2.8 V as discharge power limit.
The high voltage battery also includes low voltage harness, high voltage bus bars, connectors, contactors, and a cooling system.
The control module handles:
- Information about State of Charge (SoC) and power limits, which is used as input for regenerative charging and discharging during driving.
- Charging request during plug-in mode, based on SoC and cell voltage.
- Regulation of the high voltage battery temperature.
- Connection and disconnection of the high voltage battery, to and from the electrical propulsion system.
- Monitoring of cell voltage and temperature.
- Monitoring of contactor states.
