WASTEGATE Unit (8/245) [2020-2022]: Description

The wastegate unit regulates the boost pressure of the turbo. By allowing a certain amount of exhaust gases to pass through the turbo without interacting with the turbine, the turbo control valve can control the boost pressure.

The wastegate unit is a double functioning valve that is split into a pneumatic and an electric part. The wastegate unit creates a pressure difference that is proportional to its control signal. The amount of exhaust gases that flow through the turbo can be determined by controlling the electric signal.

In the event of a power loss the wastegate unit will open.
