Electronic Gear Selector Module (EGSM) (4/197) [2021-2022, E400V6]: Description

The Electronic Gear Selector Module (EGSM) is used to select the gear positions R, N, D and P. The P switch is directly connected to the Brake Control Module 2 (BCM2) which controls the electronic parking brake. The EGSM assembly has no mechanical linkage to the powertrain and illuminates the gear selector knob and the P switch using LEDs.
