Steering Wheel Module (SWM) (4/247) [2017-2022]: Description

The Steering Wheel Module (SWM) includes the Steering Angle Sensor Module (SAS), wiper stalk, turn stalk, and steering wheel heater regulator.

The turn stalk controls the following components:

• Light functions such as, low and high beam.
• Turn indicators.
• Front and rear fog light switch.
• Trip reset switch.

The wiper stalk controls the following components:

• Front wipers.
• Rear wiper.
• Rain sensor control button.

The steering wheel heater regulator contains a relay and high side switch which controls the heated steering wheel.

The Steering Angle Sensor Module (SAS) is mechanically integrated into the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) and measures the angle of the steering wheel. In total, the steering wheel angle sensor can measure a range of +/- 720 degrees but the steering wheel can be turned mechanically to a maximum of +/-540 degrees.
