Reversing Camera System
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) transmits an NTSC video signal to the screen in the Infotainment control module (ICM).
When the reversing camera is visible on the screen in the infotainment control module (ICM), you can press the button menu on the climate control module (CCM) to obtain a number of settings options for the reversing camera. The options are:
- Automatic activation when reversing - activates the rear camera automatically when reverse is engaged
- Distance indication - shows on-screen fields that represent distance information from the parking sensors. This requires that the vehicle is equipped with Parking Assistance Module (PAM) and the guidelines are activated.
- Guidelines - shows the predicted path of the vehicle when reversing.
- Guidelines for towbar - shows the towbar's predicted path when reversing. To activate this menu option, the vehicle must have a trailer module (TRM).
- Automatic zooming - activates automatic zooming, which is done via distance information of the parking sensors. To activate this menu option the vehicle must have a trailer module (TRM).
In order for the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) to work, it needs the following signals:
- Information is received about the steering wheel angle from the Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) (4/68) via the Central electronic module (CEM) (4/56).
- Information about settings for the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is received from the infotainment control module (ICM) (3/281), via the central electronic module (CEM).
- Information about switch for activating the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is received from the infotainment control module (ICM) (3/281), via the central electronic module (CEM).
- Information about distance to the object behind is received from the Parking Assistance Module (PAM) (4/86), via the central electronic module (CEM).
- Information about whether a trailer is attached or not is received from the Trailer module (TRM) (4/110), via the central electronic module (CEM).
- Information about which gear is engaged (only applies to vehicles with automatic transmissions) is received from the transmission control module (TCM) (4/28), via the central electronic module (CEM).
- Information about which gear is engaged (only applies to vehicles with manual gearboxes) is received from the engine control module (ECM) (4/46), via the central electronic module (CEM).
- Information about the vehicle's speed is received from the Brake control module (BCM) (4/16) via the Central electronic module (CEM).
The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) transmits information about the following signals:
