Control Module
The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is located in the boot lid, slightly to the right of the opening handle. The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) has a connection. This connection handles CAN signals, the signal to the screen in the infotainment control module (ICM) and connects the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) to power. The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is powered via a fuse at the central electronic module (CEM) and is grounded in the body.
The video output is used to transfer NTSC video composite signals to the screen on the infotainment control module (ICM).
The CAN terminal is used to receive necessary signals from:
- central electronic module (CEM)
- steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS)
- Brake control module (BCM)
- Infotainment control module (ICM)
- Parking Assistance Module (PAM)
- trailer module (TRM)
- gearbox control module (TCM)
- engine control module (ECM)
The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is activated at ignition position II when reverse is engaged (on the condition that the parking camera is activated by auto activation in the menu on the infotainment control module (ICM)). The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) can also be activated via a button on the climate control module (CCM).
Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) switches off:
- in ignition positions greater than II
- if ignition position changes to 0 or I
- when reverse gear is disengaged for longer than 5 seconds (on the condition that the switch on the Climate control module (CCM), for activating the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is not depressed)
- when the vehicles is travelling forwards at a speed exceeding 10 km/h or backwards at a speed exceeding 35 km/h (reactivation of the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) occurs when the speed drops back below 30 km/h).
For the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) settings can be made for the camera, to display fields for viewing and marking objects behind and to display guidelines. The guidelines can be activated separately. Field for display and marking objects behind requires that the vehicle is equipped with the Parking Assistance Module (PAM) and guidelines are activated.
If a trailer is connected electrically to the vehicle, neither field nor guidelines will appear.
