Connecting The Breakout Box

CAUTION: Avoid touching control module connector pins and corresponding cable harness connectors. There is a risk of electrostatic discharge, which could damage the control module. Relieve any charge on yourself and the tools to be used by holding the metal part of the tool and touching part of the body just before starting work.

General information 

Visually check the connectors to ensure that the male and female terminals are not damaged and that the cables are properly connected to the terminals. The breakout box is designed to facilitate taking readings from cables and components when the control module is disconnected. The use of a breakout box reduces the risk of accidental short-circuits and damage to the connector pins.

Connect adapter see 9512886 to the control module connector. Connect one or two breakout boxes see 9511428 to the adapter depending on the reading to be taken.

The breakout box is designed to make it easier to check the control module input and output signals when the control module is disconnected. The use of a breakout box reduces the risk of accidental short-circuited cables and damage to the connector pins.

Disconnect the breakout box in reverse order.
