Checking Components And Wiring

Disconnect the engine control module (ECM).

Check the signal wiring for the starter relay. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Measure between:

• Engine control module (ECM) #B11 (#C11) and starter relay.
• Engine control module (ECM) #B51 (#C51) and starter relay.

Check the supply cable from the starter relay to the starter motor. Check for an open-circuit.

Remedy as necessary.
