The engine control module (ECM) checks the signal from the oil level sensor. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers that the signal from the oil level sensor is outside a reasonable operating range.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is diagnosed when the engine is idling.

• None.

Possible Source 

• Extremely low oil level
• Damaged oil level sensor.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Warning lights and chimes/Oil pressure indication/no indication
