Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition 

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-340B is for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor, intake.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-341B is for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor, exhaust.

The engine control module (ECM) checks the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.

If there is no signal from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor although it appears sporadically, the engine control module (ECM) interprets this as a fault and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the engine is running.

• Damaged camshaft position (CMP) sensor
• Loose connections.
