Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition 

For the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to be stored, neither the ignition switch lighting or the stop (brake) lamp may be activated. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) CEM-8D01 is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) indicates a short-circuit to ground in the high level additional stop (brake) lamp or the ignition ring lighting.

Possible Source 

• Over heated.
• Short-circuit to ground in the circuit for the ignition switch or the stop (brake) lamp circuit.
• Defective high level stop (brake) lamp.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The stop (brake) lamp does not light when the brake pedal is depressed.
