Diagnostic Trouble Code Information
Condition
The steering wheel angle sensor has two circuits each with 4 LEDs and 4 receptors which read off their individual code wheel. One circuit measures the steering wheel angle and the other measures steering wheel revolutions. If the control unit registers that the current passing through the LED group circuit is too low, diagnostic trouble code SAS-0001 or SAS-0025 is set, depending on the group.
Substitute Value
- The AYC function is blocked.
- Anti-spin function blocked.
Possible Source
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connections or connectors.
- Short circuit to ground in LED circuit.
- LED 1-4 defective (diagnostic trouble code SAS-0001).
- LED 5-8 defective (diagnostic trouble code SAS-0025).
- Defective control unit.

- Stabilizing function not working.
