Checking Components And Wiring
- Check the connector for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the signal cable between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A47 (#A47) and camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector terminal #3. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the ground lead between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A65 (#B5) and camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector terminal #2. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the power cable between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A29 (#A29) and camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.
