Checking The Fuel Injection System

Check the intake system for air leakage.

HINT: Air leakage in the intake system can occur through the evaporative emission system (EVAP) valve, the secondary air solenoid valve or the power brake booster. 

Check the exhaust system for leakage.

Check the fuel pressure and residual pressure.

Check that the oil level is within the minimum and maximum markings.

Check the viscosity of the engine oil by reading off the short-term fuel trim with the engine running. Plug the crankcase ventilation and read off the short-term fuel trim again. The value must be more or less unchanged.

Remedy as necessary.
