Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-405A
Condition
The central electronic module (CEM) transmits information about fuel level and fault status for the fuel level sensor to the engine control module (ECM).
The engine control module (ECM) compares the engine fuel consumption with the change in fuel level over a set period of time. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers an implausibly small reduction in the fuel level compared with calculated fuel consumption.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers large variations in the fuel level during the time the car is stationary.
