Short-Circuit Between The Signal Cables
- Ignition off
- Check the connectors for the control module for the steering wheel angle sensor and the steering wheel module (SWM). Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to CONTACT RESISTANCE AND OXIDATION
- Ignition on
- Read off the status of steering wheel angle signals R1/R2/R3/R4
- Carefully turn the steering wheel to the limit positions in both directions and check that the value changes between ON and OFF.
If the value changes between OFF and ON, the cause of the fault was contact resistance or oxidation in the control module or in the steering wheel angle sensor connector.
