Checking Components And Wiring

Check the connector for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check signal cable for an open-circuit and short-circuit to supply voltage.

Take readings between:
- The Engine Control Module (ECM) terminal #A83 (#B23) and the camshaft sensor terminal #3.
Check the ground lead. Check for an open-circuit.

Take readings between:
- Engine Control Module (ECM) #A36 (#A36) and mass air flow sensor #2.
Check the power cable for a short-circuit to ground.

Take readings between:
- Engine Control Module (ECM) #A16 (#B16) and mass air flow sensor #1.
Remedy as necessary.
