Checking The Component And Wiring

Check the throttle unit and engine control module (ECM) connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.

Check the resistance value of the damper motor winding in the throttle unit. Take readings between throttle unit terminals #1 and #2 (component side). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit.

Check the damper motor cable (+) between throttle unit terminal #1 and engine control module (ECM) terminal #A75 (#B15). Check for an open circuit. Check for a short circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Check the damper motor cable (-) between throttle unit terminal #2 and engine control module (ECM) terminal #A74 (#B14). Check for an open circuit. Check for a short circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Also check the damper motor cables (+) and (-). Check for a short-circuit to each other.

Remedy as necessary.
