Checking The Status

Start the engine
Read off the engine coolant temperature (ECT)
Start the quick test for adaptation of the camshaft when the engine coolant temperature is between 60 °C and 100 °C
Increase the engine speed to at least 2000 RPM
Check that the quick test starts. The quick test has started when "Adaptation camshaft" changes status from "Not in operation" to "In operation".
HINT: In some cases the quick test can be carried out extremely quickly. Check the status in the graphic display if in doubt.
The quick test has been carried out when "Adaptation camshaft" is back in "Not in operation".
The engine must be at idle speed when the quick test is carried out.
Check the value of the camshaft discrepancy (adaptation camshaft) when the quick test has been carried out. The value must be between -8° and +8°.

If the value is correct (between -8° and +8°) the fault is intermittent. If the value is incorrect (lower than -8° or higher than +8°), the fault is permanent.
