Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-922C

Condition 

The engine control module (ECM) checks the CAN communication to the steering wheel module (SWM). The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if it receives an incorrect check sum or if the update bit from the steering wheel module (SWM) is missing.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Substitute Value 

• The cruise control is disengaged when the fault is active.

Possible Source 

• Open-circuit in the control area network (CAN) wiring
• Short-circuit between the control area network (CAN) wiring
• Internal fault in the engine control module (ECM)
• Internal fault in another control module in the same part of the control area network (CAN).

Fault symptom[s] 

• Cruise control does not function at all.
