The rear seat entertainment system is a mobile entertainment system to keep rear seat passengers occupied and entertained with video games digital TV transmissions or movies.
The system is fully integrated in the car and has two separately controlled, high-resolution 8-inch screens mounted in the head restraints.
The Rear seat entertainment module (RSE) can receive signals from the DVD player, AUX input and USB input in the Integrated Audio Module (IAM), digital TV signals from the Television Module (TVM) and signals from the directly connected A/V AUX-panel. The Rear seat entertainment module (RSE) can also provide output signals to an external screen.
The control module is installed above the glove box.
The information formats that can be played back depend on the Integrated Audio Module (IAM).
Integrated Audio Module (IAM) has support for playback of music via USB/iPod-connection in the tunnel console (does not apply to Performance).

- aac (High performance, High performance multimedia, and Premium sound multimedia)
Versions of Integrated Audio Module (IAM) with DVD-player handles playback of compressed video formats from DVD.
Support available for following formats:
- MPEG1 according to Video-CD standard
- MPEG2 according to DVD-Video standard
- MPEG4 (DivX/Xvid) only for file types. asf. avi and. divx.

An A/V AUX-panel is installed under the hatch for the center console or on the rear part of the center console. Via this hatch, other audio and video sources can be connected to the system such as video cameras, games consoles or portable media players.
The system includes two pairs of wireless headsets. The sound is transmitted to the headsets via infrared signals (IR) from a transmitter in each screen or headset via the headset jack on each screen.
Audio can also be played in the vehicles ordinary speakers via the connection from Rear seat entertainment module (RSE) to Integrated Audio Module (IAM).
Digital TV transmissions can also be displayed on the screens if the vehicle is equipped with a Television Module (TVM) (16/36).
The system is controlled using an infrared (IR) remote control, which can be used to control the screens, DVD player and TV receiver or via the keypad on the Climate control module (CCM).
