Checking The Component

• Ignition on.
• Read off the reversing light switch status.

  Move the gear selector to and from the reversing position (R  ) repeatedly and check that the value is updated..

  If the value is not updated fault trace the reversing light switch circuit.

  Remedy as necessary.

Were the values updated? 

• YES 

  Refer to CHECKING THE COMPONENT 

• NO 

  Refer to VERIFICATION

• Ignition off.

  Check the circuit for gear position 1 with regard to contact resistance and as well as breakage.
