DESCRIPTION

The yellow warning symbol may be lit and the "Engine oil level low" text message may be displayed in Driver Information Module (DIM). When checking the actual oil level with the dip stick, the oil level is OK.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION

Work is ongoing to correct this wrongly set message and a solution is pending. In the meantime, only the engine oil needs to be replaced. The oil level sensor may generate an incorrect level signal if there are contaminants in the oil. In turn, this will incorrectly set the warning message.

NOTE: It is important to write the oil level according to dip stick in the repair order and warranty text when the message was present.

SERVICE

In the case of a customer complaint of this message, first check the oil level.

If the oil level is not OK, refer to RTJ 24411 .

If the oil level is OK, do not replace any components, just engine oil.

DO NOT REPLACE SENSOR (P/N 30757802). JUST DRAIN AND FILL WITH NEW ENGINE OIL ACCORDING TO VIDA SPECIFICATION.

If the vehicle's next service interval (i.e. 7,500 miles, 15,000 miles) is not within 1,000 miles of the current repair miles, do not reset the "Service" reminder light, and continue with the vehicle's normally scheduled maintenance.
