When the button to open the tailgate is pressed in for at least 1.5 seconds, either on Light switch module (LSM) on the instrument panel or the remote key, the tailgate shall open to fully open position. A brief press of the button unlocks the lock.

The tailgate's opening function is handled by control modules Central electronic module (CEM), Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM), and Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT).

NOTE:

Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM) and Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) are options and are not installed in all vehicles.

Check the buttons' status to open the tailgate by clicking on the symbol for VCT2000.

Status shall show pressed/not pressed for the button on the instrument panel, and for the remote key status shall show which button was pressed last. If the status does not follow the real button pushes, check if there are other trouble codes set for each control module.
