The steering wheel module (SWM) continuously checks the system components. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the steering wheel module (SWM) registers that the vehicle is a two or four door model without a rear windshield wiper, but that there is a button for a rear windshield wiper.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

• None.

Possible Source 

• Incorrect control stalk, installed on the right-hand side.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Activation button for the rear windshield wiper does not function
• No function for rear windshield wiper.
