Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information SWM-020A
Condition
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the steering wheel module (SWM) has registered that calibration data in EEPROM has been erased. The steering wheel module (SWM) then transmits the status Not initialized to the brake control module (BCM), i. e. it does not know what the angle is until the steering wheel has been turned more than 90 degrees in either direction.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Active yaw control is blocked.
Possible Source
- Internal fault in the steering wheel module (SWM).
Fault symptom[s]
- Traction control warning lamp lit
- The stability control system does not function.
