Internal Fault

The steering wheel module (SWM) has registered an internal fault.

HINT: The steering wheel angle sensor is integrated in the steering wheel module (SWM) and cannot be replaced as a separate unit. 

If the fault is intermittent, it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can be caused by interference at start up of the steering wheel module (SWM) or can be a different type of fault which occurs on different occasions. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs. Replace the steering wheel module (SWM) if the fault recurs.

Replace the steering wheel module (SWM) in the event of a permanent fault:
