The steering wheel module (SWM) continuously checks the system components. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the micro processor or steering wheel module (SWM) registers that the Scan- control has been activated for more than 5 minutes.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

• None.

Possible Source 

• The Scan- control is activated for more than 5 minutes.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The station setting changes without the scan+ or scan- buttons being manually activated
• The radio buttons on the steering wheel do not function
• The carphone does not function.
