The steering wheel module (SWM) continuously checks the system components. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the rain sensor switch has been activated for a long time.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Possible Source 

• Rain sensor switch activated for a long time.

Fault symptom[s] 

• No rain sensor function.
