Condition

The electrical power steering module (EPS) monitors the pump motor and the internal temperature sensor for the control module.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the electrical power steering module (EPS) registers that the temperature signal of the internal temperature sensor is absent for more than 1 second.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Substitute Value 

• No power steering effect.

Possible Source 

• Damaged electrical power steering module (EPS).

Fault symptom[s] 

• No or weak power steering effect
• General warning lamp lit
• Messages in the display.
