Checking Components And Wiring

Check the connector for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.

Check the signal cable between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A61 (#B1) and camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector terminal #3. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Check the power cable between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A13 (#A13) and camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit.

Remedy as necessary.
