The central electronic module (CEM) transmits the signal from the outside temperature sensor via CAN to the engine control module (ECM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the signal from the outside temperature sensor is within its normal range but deviates from the calculated temperature.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed after 5 minutes driving at an engine speed above 1700 rpm and a speed above 50 km/h.
