Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information TCM-P170164

Condition 

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:

• Reverse drive is not engaged when the gear selector is moved to R.

The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:

• Engine running.

Substitute Value 

• Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1  in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

  HINT:  EMERGENCY MODE IN THE EVENT OF A FAULT 

Possible Source 

• Solenoid S2 has jammed in the ON position.
• Mechanical fault in the transmission.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Automatic transmission/No automatic gearshift
• Text window and warning symbol/Red symbol and text message
