Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information SAS-U000188
Condition
The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it. Only the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) communicates on the controller area network (CAN).
A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects:
- Serious interference on the high speed network (CAN communication blocked).
NOTE:
In the event of system communication problems, it is not possible to communicate with the control module. herefore it will only be possible to read off the fault if it is intermittent.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
Substitute Value
- The Steering wheel angle sensor module disengages from the CAN bus.
Possible Source
- Short-circuit between the control area network (CAN) wiring.
- Open-circuit in one or both CAN cables.
- Internal fault in the control module.
- Internal fault in another control module in the same part of the control area network (CAN).

- Text window and warning symbol/Yellow symbol and text message
- Warning lights and chimes/Antispin/antiskid (DSA, TRACS, STC, DSTC) indication/no indication
- Anti-spin function/Does not work
- Stability function/Does not work
- Active chassis function/Does not work
