Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-P050429

Condition 

The engine control module (ECM) checks the stop lamp switch by comparing the received signal with the brake pedal switch position. Information about the position of the brake pedal switch is transmitted from the brake control module (BCM) via CAN communication.

The control module compares both the signals.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:

NOTE:

The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

HINT: If Engine control module (ECM) has been recharged or if the battery voltage has been interrupted, the brake pedal must be pressed down twice for approx. two seconds to activate the cruise control function.
