Checking The Function

• Check the operation of the steering column lock by inserting the remote key in the ignition. The steering column lock must be unlocked. It must be possible to turn the steering wheel.
• Remove the key from the ignition switch. The steering column lock must be locked. It must be impossible to turn the steering wheel.

If the function is correct, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but is not active at the moment, i. e. an intermittent fault. Erase the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and read out again. If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) does not recur no further corrective action is required.

Remedy as necessary.
