Checking The Status

Ignition on.
Read out the status during manual shifting (+/-).
Depress the brake pedal. Move the gear selector to the position for manual shifting and check that the status changes.
Move the gear selector to + and check that the gear selection is updated in the VIDA display and in the display on the driver information module (DIM).
Move the gear selector to -. Check that the gear selection is updated.
If the gear selector position switches, the fault is intermittent. That is to say, it occurred earlier but is not active right now.

If gear selector position is not updated, replace the gear selector module (GSM).
