Checking The Fitting Of The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS)

NOTE:

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) shows that the steering wheel angle sensor may be incorrectly installed. hen installing the contact reel/steering wheel angle sensor, it is vital that the unit be installed correctly. f the unit is installed with the turning central section one turn out of place, turning the steering wheel fully could break internal components. f the unit has been improperly installed, the contact reel must be replaced.

Ignition off.
Align the wheels in the straight ahead position.
Ignition on.
Read off the steering wheel angle.
Check that the steering wheel angle is 0° when the wheels are set straight ahead. f the steering wheel angle is incorrect, set the wheels straight ahead and loosen the steering wheel. hen adjust the contact roller so that the yellow marking is visible in the contact roller's window when the contact roller's lock screw is in the right position.

NOTE:
If the ignition position is in position II when the steering wheel is removed, then diagnostic trouble codes are stored for steering wheel buttons in central electronic module (CEM).
