Handling Non-Deployed SRS-Components
Non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS components must not be deployed/ignited inside the vehicle. See DISCARDING PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
WARNING:
Destroying non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS components.
The SRS component is to be removed as specified in the instructions below.
Remove:
- the air bag on the driver's side. See DRIVER'S AIRBAG (2007-09) , DRIVER'S AIRBAG (2010) or DRIVER'S AIRBAG (2011-12)
- the air bag on the passenger side. See AIRBAG, PASSENGER SIDE
- the airbags (SIPS) in the seats. See AIR BAG, FRONT SEAT (2007-08) or AIR BAG, FRONT SEAT (2009-12)
- the side air curtains (IC). See or INFLATABLE CURTAIN
- the front safety belt tensioners. See FRONT SAFETY BELT RETRACTOR
- the rear safety belt tensioners. See SEAT BELT RETRACTOR, REAR
- the supplemental restraint system module. See SEAT BELT AND OTHER RESTRAINING SYSTEMS
- the steering wheel.
- the contact reel/steering wheel module (SWM). See STEERING WHEEL CONTROL MODULE (2007-09) or STEERING WHEEL CONTROL MODULE (2010-12)

WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS componet. There is a risk of deployment.
WARNING:
A pyrotechnical SRS component must never be unscrewed, repaired or moved to another vehicle.
