Checking The Start Function

Are relevant diagnostics trouble codes (DTCs) stored?

Has the start control module (SCU) been replaced? 



Remove the key from the ignition switch.

If the key does not come out, check the following and the attempt to remove the key again:

This applies to vehicles with structure week from and including 200720. If the key still cannot be removed, read out the value on the parameter "Key removal". Click the VCT2000 symbol in VIDA (Volvo scan tool) to read off the value.

This applies to vehicles with structure week up to and including 200719.

Has the Start control module (SCU) been replaced? 



Start control module (SCU) probably has a fault.

Continue fault-tracing by checking the Steering column lock module (SCL).
